The Magic in Writing Down Your Goals This Year

Happy New Year 2016!

Magic_flameI hope this email finds you feeling relaxed after a Christmas break and ready for another exciting beginning of 366 days!” (yes, it’s leap year this year!)

Not sure if it’s just me, but I always feel this urge to create a new plan for myself when a new year begins.

Maybe it’s the holidays and having a well-deserved break, but to me New Year feels like a fresh clean slate for evaluating where I am and asking myself where I would like to end up in another years time.

Why am I so excited about writing down my goals for the year?

Because let me tell if you haven’t tried this one before: writing down goals WORKS!

There is strange magic in every goal that I have ever bothered to write down over the years. Sometimes when I have reviewed my goals in the end of the year I have realised that I even achieved those goals that I didn’t remember writing down!

So what did I promise to do a year ago?

This time last year I set myself an overall goal of having a lot of fun in my work and sharing this fun energy with the people I work with!

Here’s the blog post I wrote last year about setting those fun goals:

7 Fun and Easy Steps to Setting Goals That Are Right For You This Year

The moment of truth: How did I go?

I wasn’t even sure HOW I was going to achieve this goal… but YES, I did it anyway! And a lot more!

Overall, I had a lot of fun and loved every minute of 2015 and everyone who was part of my year!
I know I have so much in my life to be grateful for!
Now, it’s your turn! I can’t wait to hear what kind of magic you are planning to create this year.

Just remember: You must write it down for the magic to work!

Great idea! There is something very powerful about writing something down and realising it!

Thanks, Tim! Very true! I use this all the time. Sometimes if I can’t get something done, I write it in my to do list and amazingly it gets done almost straight away.
